Update 19th July 2021

Having taken note of the Covid-19 regulation changes from last week, along with advice received from our Industry Bodies, the Government and the DVSA, I have decided that as far as driving lessons are concerned, nothing changes.

I will still be wearing a face covering and will expect all pupils to do the same (unless you have a valid medical reason not to). I will carry out the same cleaning regime between lessons and will have windows open in the car to provide adequate ventilation.

The rules for face coverings, ventilation etc on Driving Tests remain unchanged, so you need to be used to wearing the mask etc.

The law may have changed but the virus has not gone away. This is for everyone’s safety, especially in the close confines of a car.

Update 5th April 2021

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement today, I can confirm that Driving Lessons can restart from Monday 12th April 2021.

Practical Driving Tests will restart on 22nd April 2021.

I’m looking forward to seeing all my pupils again from next week.

Update 24th December 2020

Unfortunately, from 26th December 2020 we will be in Tier 4, which means that once again Driving Lessons cannot take place – just as we had got back in to the routine!

Once we move in to a lower tier, I should be able to start lessons again.

May I wish all Drivewise pupils, past present and future, a Happy and Healthy Christmas, and a much improved 2021!

Update 02/11/2020 – 2nd Lockdown

Following The Prime Minister’s announcement of a second lockdown, I have today received an email from DVSA stating:

“All driver and rider training and tests will be suspended in England from 5 November until 2 December 2020. “

In other words all lessons will be suspended from this Thursday until after 2nd December. How this will effect those with tests booked after 2nd December I do not know, however I will be in contact with those affected as soon as I hear something.

Update 27th July 2020

Since my last update, I have, as planned made a phased restart to lessons. Most pupils have now had a lesson, or have one booked for this week. Those that have not, I will be in touch soon.

I am not able to work as many hours as I did before lockdown, due to the cleaning needed before and after each lesson, along with a number of other factors. However, it is good to be back on the road, even if it is from behind a face covering!

Thank you all for your patience and support.
